The Randolph Area Chamber of Commerce has its mind and eyes forward and we want you to be a part of our future. This website is your connection.
At its core, the town of Randolph has long been a town of ingenuity and prosperity. The rich architecture and many fine institutions in the community bear witness to that. For a small town to be endowed with a renowned cultural center for the performing and visual arts in the Chandler Center for the Arts, a technical college on the cutting edge in Vermont Technical College, a hospital that has given birth to numerous Vermonters in Gifford Medical Center, a golf course where many memorable rounds have been played in the Montague Golf Club, a treasured institution in the historic Kimball Library, a thriving downtown and more is impressive; but what is more striking is that each of these institutions, and the people behind them, are vigorous, energized, and on the rise.
To the point, Gifford Medical Center completed a multi-million dollar expansion in '06. Chandler is fundraising for a major renovation and addition. Montague has made a significant investment in the golf course's infrastructure. The White River Craft Center is restoring its home, a gem of a 19th century Victorian mansion, the Kimball House.
Through the state of Vermont's Council on Rural Development 'Creative Economy' program the local community is involved in the three important and forward-looking studies. One is to bring universal broadband service to the Randolph area. Area towns are now working in collaboration with the ECFibernet project. Other groups are studying and advocating environmental initiatives that promote Randolph as a Green Community, and finally a third committee, The Heart of Vermont, is working to coordinate and focus the efforts of many individuals and organizations involved in creative endeavors.
With the depth of vigor that was created in its commercial and cultural institutions in the past, a community built on railroads and once focused on industry and manufacturing has transitioned well into the new opportunities and demands of the 21st century with art, technology, and quality of life beyond its size. We have interstate highway and railroad access, developable land, and solid infrastructure to sustain future growth.
The Randolph Area Chamber of Commerce is doing its part to lead us into the future. Today technology is the way, and this site is your link to us. Not only do we have our mind and eyes on the future, but as the Heart of Vermont we also have our heart set on what is to come. We hope that you will join us.
Joe Boyd, President
